Bosideng, with mountaineering spirit of 43 years, witnesses Xia Boyu climbing to the top of Europe’s highest mountain
Xia Boyu, Laureus World Sports Awards winner, witness and pioneer of China’s mountaineering history, will attend Bosideng Mountaineering collection release on October 30.
In 1975, Xia Boyu, who was only 26 years old, had to have his legs amputated after they were severely damaged from freezing temperature while helping his teammates during his first time climbing the Mount Everest. Despite these setbacks, Xia Boyu never gave up. Instead, he was fearless, determined, and willing to challenge and push himself to the limits. And after five attempts to scale the Mount Everest in 43 years, he was finally successful and made it to the top on his fifth attempt in 2018. From 1975 to 2018, it took Xia Boyu 43 years to surmount the obstacles and fulfill his dream about the Mount Everest.
For Xia Boyu, reaching the top of the Mount Everest is not the final destination, but a new beginning in life. On August 26, 2019, with the help of Bosideng, Xia Boyu made it to the top of Europe’s highest Mountain Mount Elbrus in a Mountaineering down jacket. He is currently making preparations for his next extreme challenge, conquering the highest mountain peaks on each of the seven continents and the North and South poles.

Xia Boyu has best illustrated the mountaineering spirit with his 43 years of persistence and fight. For Bosideng, 43 years is what it took to reach the top by never forgetting its history and striving for excellence. Bosideng has always been focused on research and development to create this groundbreaking Mountaineering collection, which is not only a sincere tribute to Chinese mountaineers, but also a hope that Bosideng can help Chinese mountaineers in successfully scaling higher mountains.
Helping Chinese National Mountaineering Team climb Mount Everest twice after 21 years of continuous efforts
As the world's first mountaineering team that reached the summit of Mount Everest from the North Ridge, the Chinese National Mountaineering Team, like any Chinese, love China and are always ready to work hard, and make it their mission to defend the glory of China. As they take on seemingly impossible tasks, one after another, they have created so many inspiring legends.
It is rarely known that the Chinese National Mountaineering Team was faced with the problem of a short domestic supply of specialized mountaineering equipment in the early years. So they had to buy expensive equipment from abroad, which could only be given to a small number of main players. More than two decades ago when Bosideng became friends with the Chinese National Mountaineering Team, it was impressed by the fearless spirit, strong will and perseverance of these brave mountaineers and felt sorry about the difficulties and obstacles impeding their development. Since then, Bosideng has been committed to the development of down-filled mountaineering jackets, hoping to produce professional Chinese down-filled mountaineering jackets.
When members of the Chinese National Mountaineering Team successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest wearing Bosideng down jackets on May 24, 1998, they placed the team flag saying "China Bosideng Mountaineering Team" and a metal plate bearing the inscription "Bosideng is NO.1 in China, and challenges to be a world famous brand" on the world's highest peak with an altitude of 8,844.43 meters above sea level. In the past 21 years, Bosideng has worked relentlessly to optimize design and improve performance of down-filled mountaineering jackets in all aspects to meet the professional protection needs in extreme environments in the process of mountaineering. On May 23, 2019, the Chinese National Mountaineering Team once again successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest with the help of Bosideng.

21 years of persistent pursuit seems to be a tacit understanding between Bosideng and the Chinese National Mountaineering Team, and also the continuation of the mountaineering spirit. For the past 21 years, Bosideng has become friends with many great and brave Chinese mountaineers on its way to the peak, fighting and growing together. A leading figure of the Chinese National Mountaineering Team Ci Luo will also attend the Bosideng Mountaineering collection release on October 30.

Professional protection for courageous men on their way to the top
Throughout the development of Bosideng, it has witnessed and supported many "mountaineers" of different fields that have worked tirelessly in pursuit of their dreams.
At the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games, Han Xiaopeng won China’s first gold medal for men's skiing event in a ski suit independently developed by Bosideng. This Bosideng ski suit, technology-packed, high-performance and of Chinese style, is now kept by the Olympic Museum.

In July 1998, Bosideng went to Gran Howe Island with the China Arctic Scientific Expedition Team, protecting them from the extreme cold climate as a participant in the Arctic expedition.
In October 1999, Bosideng voyaged to the Antarctic with China Antarctic Scientific Expedition Team aboard China’s icebreaker Xue Long (Snow Dragon). Once again, Bosideng succeeded in its fight against the extreme cold climate and helped the Expedition Team complete the challenge of reaching the top of the Antarctic.
Having crossed mountains, conquered the Arctic and the Antarctic, and fought snow storms, Bosideng is the only down jacket brand in China that conquered Mount Everest, the Arctic and the Antarctic, supporting China's sports cause and scientific research in the the Arctic and the Antarctic.
